Cutlass
“cut less” – requires less mowing
Cutlass (formerly Lowrider 1) is a relatively new zoysia released by Bladerunner Farms for its ability to “ride low” along the ground. As a result of its horizontal growth habit, Cutlass requires very little mowing—something homeowners will appreciate.
Cutlass is an extremely low maintenance grass that is drought and shade tolerant like other zoysias. It’s special growth habit occurs within its extensive, deep root and rhizome system and horizontally across the lawn, rather than growing much vertically. The texture is finer than JaMur but not as fine as Zeon.
The grass was renamed because it doesn’t need to be mowed often, a play on the words “cut less” and the Oldsmobile Cutlass automobiles were some of the first “lowrider” cars.
